Just Thinking

About 2 months ago I finally talked Mike into giving up the satelite TV.  There wasn't anything on day time TV that I wanted to watch while everyone is away at work and school.  We were not happy with the quality of the programs on for the kids and the values that even the Disney Channel was teaching.  And it was a lot of money to pay for something we were not happy with.  I happily report to you that the kids have survived watching free TV.  They may not have all the cartoon channels, and there still isn't stuff on all the time that we want to watch, but network TV is just fine.  I'm not saying there aren't channels we miss.  Mike loves Sci-Fi Channel.  Steven likes History Channel.  I miss my guilty pleasure shows of Swamp People (Mike hates that show and can't figure out why I like it-- there's just something about watching Jr. catching a big gator.....) and Sister Wives, and Zach wants to see cartoons when he gets home from school (about 10 minutes after he gets home Fat Albert comes on - some of those things I used to watch as a kid sure don't seem real correct these days...) and then no more cartoons.  I wish I could get PBS so Molly could watch Sesame Street.  But we have tons of videos and DVD's.  We will survive - maybe with absolutely NO TV sometime soon.
