I forget

Sometimes I forget that parenting is a learned process. Sunday we came home from church with Zach not feeling well. He said his tummy hurt and he almost fell asleep in the car. I knew he was feeling bad when I suggested he go put on some comfy clothes like sweat pant or jammies, and he put on jammies. I have tried to get him to put on jammies when he didn't feel good before, and he always resisted. I then left him home with Mike for about 45 minutes while I ran a quick errand. When I got home, Mike was asking Zach if he liked that. "Liked what, honey?" "Oh, I let him try some of my pepper jerky" What?????? His tummy hurts, he's sick.......... "Oh, I guess I'll be cleaning it up if he gets sick, huh?" BINGO

When It Rains, It Pours

I hate Valentines Day. I never used to. In fact, Mike and I met on Valentines Day. That was the last good one I've had. Our first Valentine's together, we had our first big fight and almost broke up. The next year on Valentines Day, our Rental house was vandalized with $18,000 in damage. The following year, Mike's ex-wife sent him a big box of gifts and cards, which the mail lady delivered to the door and handed to me....... This year, my car was broken into while I was at work on Valentines Day. I think from now on we are going to hide from the world every Feb 14. We'll celebrate March 10 instead - our first official date.

We just got our pre-approval from China to adopt Molly. Her Chinese name is Dang (that's her surname) Qiang (Key-ang) Sheng. We will call her Molly. She is an adorable 11 month old baby girl, who also has bladder exstrophy. We will be able to bring her home with us when we go to China later this spring to finalize Zach's adoption. We are so excited to have a little girl joining our family!!!
